Why compliant suppliers avoid use claims

You'll notice compliant suppliers never tell you what a material 'does'. Here's the thinking behind that.

Describing, not prescribing

A compliant supplier’s role is to describe a material — its identity, format, documentation and supply — not to prescribe or suggest what it should be used for. Avoiding use and outcome claims keeps the relationship squarely within research supply.

Why claims are avoided

Use claims, dosing guidance and outcome promises would cross the research-only boundary and imply contexts that a research-supply relationship does not cover. Responsible suppliers therefore describe the material and leave the research context to the qualified purchaser.

What you can expect instead

Instead of claims, expect clear product information, documentation where available, and honest gaps where a value is not supplied. That discipline is a sign of a supplier taking the boundary seriously.

Frequently asked questions

Why won’t a supplier tell me what a peptide does?

Because doing so would cross the research-only boundary into use or outcome claims.

What should a compliant product description contain?

Identity, format, documentation and supply facts — described, not prescribed.

This guide is educational information about laboratory research materials. It is not guidance for human or animal use. All products are supplied strictly for laboratory research use only.
